Student Leadership

Student Leadership @ NPS

We will empower the students in a wide variety of project areas so they can have a positive voice in the direction the school and more importantly student learning.

The School Captains will be given a project team to lead.  The students will be assigned into the leadership roles. The following is an overview of the Project Teams and their focus areas:

Leaders of Physical Activity

This Project Team will be led by one of the school captains and will focus on:

  • Lunch and equipment borrowing
  • Playground monitors
  • clubs
  • Other areas as identified by the team

Leaders of Environment

This Project Team will be led by one of the school captains and will focus on:

  • Sustainability
  • Leading initiatives- nude food, bins
  • Gardening
  • Keeping the school grounds clean
  • Other areas as identified by the team

Leaders of Culture and Integrity

This Project Team will be led by one of the school captains and will focus on:

  • Celebrations (activities, promotion, presentations in assemblies)
  • Embracing culture across the school
  • Working with teachers and community
  • Other areas as identified by the team

Leaders of Communications

This Project Team will be led by one of the school captains and will focus on:

  • Newsletter (with a focus on learning)
  • Facebook posts
  • Assemblies
  • Reporting on events
  • Other areas as identified by the team

Leaders of IT

The leadership will be led by one of the school captains and will focus on:

  • Running IT at assembly
  • Photos for Facebook/newsletter
  • Videos
  • Ozobots club
  • Other areas as identified by the team
